Atha kho Bhagavā Koṭigāme yathābhirantaṁ viharitvā, āyasmantaṁ Ānandaṁ āmantesi: [199]

“Āyām' Ānanda yena Nādikā ChS: Nātikā, and similarly throughout.02 tenupasaṅkamissāmā.” ti [200]

“Evaṁ Bhante,” ti kho āyasmā Ānando Bhagavato paccassosi. Atha kho Bhagavā mahatā bhikkhusaṅghena saddhiṁ yena Nādikā tad-avasari. Tatra sudaṁ BJT: Tatra pi sudaṁ.03 Bhagavā Nādike viharati Giñjakāvasathe. [201]

Sādhikā navuti Thai: Chādhikā navuti = ninety-six.14 Ānanda Nādike upāsakā kālakatā tiṇṇaṁ saññojanānaṁ parikkhayā, rāgadosamohānaṁ tanuttā, Sakadāgāmino sakid-eva imaṁ lokaṁ āgantvā, dukkhassantaṁ karissanti. [228]

Sātirekāni Ānanda pañcasatāni Thai: Dasātirekāni ... pañcasatāni = five-hundred and ten.15 Nādike upāsakā kālakatā tiṇṇaṁ saññojanānaṁ parikkhayā, Sotāpannā avinipātadhammā PTS: avinipātā-.16 niyatā Sambodhiparāyanā. [229]

Anacchariyaṁ kho panetaṁ Ānanda yaṁ manussabhūto kālaṁ kareyya, tasmiñ-ce Thai: tasmiṁ tasmiṁ kho; ChS: tasmiṁ yeva; PTS: tasmiṁ tasmiṁ ce. Idh' Ānanda Ariyasāvako Buddhe aveccappasādena samannāgato hoti: [234]

‘Iti pi so Bhagavā Arahaṁ Sammāsambuddho,
vijjācaraṇasampanno Sugato lokavidū,
anuttaro purisadammasārathi,
Satthā devamanussānaṁ Buddho Bhagavā.’ ti [235]

Dhamme aveccappasādena samannāgato hoti: [236]

‘Svākkhāto Bhagavatā Dhammo,
sandiṭṭhiko, akāliko, ehipassiko, opanayiko, ChS: opaneyyiko.21
paccattaṁ veditabbo viññūhī.’ ti [237]

Saṅghe aveccappasādena samannāgato hoti: [238]

‘Supaṭipanno ChS: Suppaṭipanno... ujuppaṭipanno... ñāyappaṭipanno... sāmīcippaṭipanno. There is no discernible rule governing gemination, but the overwhelming evidence from editions and manuscripts is that the forms in this well-known and oft-repeated phrase do not geminate.22 Bhagavato sāvakasaṅgho,
ujupaṭipanno Bhagavato sāvakasaṅgho,
ñāyapaṭipanno Bhagavato sāvakasaṅgho,
sāmīcipaṭipanno Bhagavato sāvakasaṅgho,

Ariyakantehi sīlehi samannāgato hoti, akhaṇḍehi acchiddehi asabalehi akammāsehi, bhujissehi, viññuppasatthehi Thai, ChS: viññūpasatthehi, alternative formation, showing the long vowel + single consonant vs. short vowel + double consonant variation.24 aparāmaṭṭhehi samādhisaṁvattanikehi. [240]

“Iti sīlaṁ, iti samādhi, iti paññā, sīlaparibhāvito samādhi mahapphalo hoti mahānisaṁso, samādhiparibhāvitā paññā mahapphalā hoti mahānisaṁsā, paññāparibhāvitaṁ cittaṁ sammad-eva āsavehi vimuccati, seyyathīdaṁ: kāmāsavā bhavāsavā avijjāsavā.” ti [244]
