Chaṭṭhapañhe, PTS: Chaṭṭhama-; another form of the numeral.1 sakalikāvedho PTS: sakalikāya vedho; dissolving the compound.2 ti sakalikāya ghaṭṭanaṁ. PTS: ghaṭṭhanaṁ; misspelling.3

Atīte kira Bodhisatto ekasmiṁ kule nibbatto, daharakāle mahāvīthiyaṁ kīḷamāno, vīthiyaṁ piṇḍāya caramānaṁ Paccekabuddhaṁ disvā: “Ayaṁ muṇḍako samaṇako ChS, Thai: samaṇo.4 kuhiṁ gacchatī?” ti pāsāṇasakalikaṁ gahetvā, tassa pādapiṭṭhiyaṁ khipi. Pādapiṭṭhicammaṁ chinditvā ruhiraṁ SHB, PTS: rudhiraṁ; alternative form of the word, but see below: ruhituppādaṁ.5 nikkhami.

So tena pāpakammena, anekavassasahassāni Niraye mahādukkhaṁ anubhavitvā, Buddhabhūto pi. Kammapilotikavasena, pādapiṭṭhiyaṁ pāsāṇasakalikaghaṭṭanena PTS: -ghaṭṭhanena; as above.6 ruhiruppādaṁ SHB: ruhiruṁ pādaṁ.7 labhi.

Tena vuttaṁ:

Purehaṁ dārako hutvā, kīḷamāno mahāpathe,
Paccekabuddhaṁ disvāna magge sakalikaṁ khipiṁ; [80]

Tena kammavipākena idha pacchimake bhave
Vadhatthaṁ maṁ Devadatto abhimāre payojayī. ti This last verse reads differently in SHB and PTS: Tena kammavipākena Buddhabhūtassa me sato, Paviddhesi silaṁ tattha Devadatto vighaṭṭavā ti (PTS: vigātavā ti); through that deed and its result, when I had become a Buddha, Devadatta who was angry threw a rock (at me) in that place.8 [81]
