−⏑−⏑¦⏑−−−¦¦−⏑−⏑⏑¦⏑−⏑− Metre: note that the resolution at the 4th here is unusual in that we have to take the negative as the first syllable in the resolution; it appears that the negative is so closely attached syntactically to the word it modifies that it is sometimes taken as though it were part of the following word prosodically.

rājato vā PTS: va. upasaggaṁ, BJT, PTS: upassaggaṁ; the variant reading recorded here is m.c. to produce the pathyā cadence, but the savipulā is acceptable, so there is no need for a change in the normal word form. ~ abbhakkhānaṁ va ChS: abbhakkhānañ-ca. dāruṇaṁ,

Metre: we might have expected a reading here as the shortening of the vowel is not required m.c., it has probably arisen through imitation of va (< ) is the previous lines. pabhaṅguraṁ.
