ArdhasamavÔtta (Addhasamavutta) Tables
In the prosodies and commentaries the method given for creating the ArdhasamavÔtta metres is this: for a metre having, say, 2 syllables in each of the lines, the table for 4 syllables from the samavÔtta tables should be used. It is then necessary to break the lines at the 2nd syllable, and remove the lines that would be samavÔtta. The remaining metres belong to the ArdhasamavÔtta class and the number can be discerned.
