We can outline here how to draw up a table for the âryà metre here, which will then serve as the example for all the other metres also. In the first table write guru-s wherever possible. In the 1st line the exception is in the 6th gaõa, which must be jagaõa or nagaõa. As jagaõa has a guru we write that shape first. In the 2nd line the 6th gaõa has only one laghu, so we have to write that there instead of a guru:
