Ardhasamavtta (Addhasamavutta) Tables
In the prosodies and commentaries the method given for creating the Ardhasamavtta metres is this: for a metre having, say, 2 syllables in each of the lines, the table for 4 syllables from the samavtta tables should be used. It is then necessary to break the lines at the 2nd syllable, and remove the lines that would be samavtta. The remaining metres belong to the Ardhasamavtta class and the number can be discerned.
